Latest Update..
Amateur Radio Parity Act--we've been talking
about it for a while. Now it's ACTION TIME for at least some of you in
the Division. Next Tuesday, January 12th, the House Bill comes up
before the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Communications and
Technology. Five House members from Ohio, Kentucky and Michigan sit on
that committee.
The ARRL is asking each ham in those
congressional districts to contact their representatives and ask for
their support for the bill. It's easy. Just go to this website:
https://arrl.rallycongress.net/ctas/urge-congress-to-support-amateur-radio-parity-act.
All you have to do is fill in your zip code,
and get a message to your congressman. Do it today!
This specifically applies to those of you who
live in Michigan in Fred Upton's district, which is generally the
southwestern part of the state; those who live in Ohio Rep. Robert
Latta's district, which is generally around the Toledo area; those who
live in Ohio Rep. Bill Johnson's district, which is generally
southeastern Ohio along the river; those who live in Kentucky Rep. Brett
Guthrie's district, which is generally south of Louisville and
Lexington; and those who live in Kentucky Rep. John Yarmouth's district,
which is in the immediate Louisville area.
Even if you don't live in those districts, you
can contact your representative. If the bill passes out of committee,
we'll need to have a full effort from everyone before the bill comes to
a vote in the House.
We're getting close. Thanks for your past
efforts, and get ready to make your voice heard again soon!
